What each check covers

• Storage · the database backing your plan, profiles, and feed. If down, writes and reads are blocked.
• Background worker · the recurring-job runner that powers daily briefings, discovery jobs, and scheduled exports. Stale heartbeat means deferred work isn't running.
• AI provider · whether at least one AI key is configured server-side. Degraded means AI-augmented features fall back to manual editing.
• Billing· whether Stripe is configured. Degraded means upgrades won't go through checkout (existing subscriptions are unaffected).
• Email· whether transactional email (verification, password reset) is wired. Degraded means new accounts can't verify; existing accounts are fine.
